The locally owned Mill Street Bistro is a lively restaurant in downtown Bayfield that serves some of the best farm-to-table food in La Plata County. Customers rave about dishes like the Green Chili Mac and Cheese and the Bison Sliders, and with a menu that changes weekly, you’ll always have something new to try.

Another local favorite is Brenda's Old West Cafe, where you can buy fresh homemade pies served alongside big plates of steaming pancakes and cheesy omelets. The western decor gives it an old-American vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. Nearby, the Blue Sky Cafe is a small, locally owned restaurant that serves fresh entrees and various specialty coffee drinks to warm you during the cold Colorado winter.

Bayfield also boasts the Pine River Heritage Museum, which is located at the bottom of the old Town Hall building. Admission is free, and visitors can view artifacts and art displays of the old western days or walk through an old school room and post office.

Mountain View Artisans is a locally-owned shop that's situated in the downtown district of Bayfield. Here, you'll find unique gifts and trinkets made by local artists. It's the perfect place to find one-of-a-kind items that support local artists in Bayfield.

Every July, over 20 local breweries come together to provide a tasting experience, and each attendee receives a taster glass as a souvenir. Local food vendors and live music make it an unforgettable experience that locals look forward to each year.
